Dev update 2


I think I've found a way to do "scaling" for different resolutions and Aspect ratios. It seems pretty simple but it's not going to scale it "right" It's going to add black bars and keep a 16:9 aspect ratio. It's the most common aspect ratio and the game is still going to be designed for a 1920 x 1080 resolution, But it should make the game fully playable on any resolution.

The following is the description and a gif from the game engine document.

Stretch Aspect = Keep: Keep aspect ratio when stretching the screen. This means that the viewport retains its original size regardless of the screen resolution, and black bars will be added to the top/bottom of the screen ("letterboxing") or the sides ("pillarboxing").

This is a good option if you know the aspect ratio of your target devices in advance, or if you don't want to handle different aspect ratios.


When can you expect this update? I've not started on this yet and unsure if I'll get around to it today. I also might try to add some more content to the update but I'm unsure at this time. I think you can expect it in the next day or two, so 3/26/21 or 3/27/21.

I hope this update will make everyone happy since it's going to make it more playable for everyone.
